Volunteering

Perhaps the most striking feature of Skate Canada NL organizational structure is its reliance on volunteers. All members of clubs, boards, the Sections and Committees receive no payment for their contribution to Skate Canada. Similarly, the judges, referees and other officials are all volunteers and as such, receive no remuneration for their hard work and dedication. Each year at the Skate Canada NL Annual General Meeting, the commitment and dedication of volunteers is recognized and celebrated at a Volunteer Awards celebration. Volunteers are needed in skating clubs and schools throughout our province as well as during important skating events throughout the year.

 

Volunteering at your local Skating Club or School
Skate Canada Newfoundland and Labrador strives to provide quality programs, seminars, competitions and support services to its 5000+ athletes, 33 clubs, five regions and hundreds of committed volunteers.   With only two support staff, the majority of work is carried out by volunteers.  Our valued volunteers contribute thousands of hours to provide skating programs which enable our athletes to realize their goals.   To find more information about volunteering with your local Skate Canada club or skating school in Newfoundland and Labrador please click here.

 

Volunteering at Events
Skate Canada Newfoundland and Labrador Events are a fantastic way to build your volunteer portfolio and gain valuable experience while working at a sporting event.
